LETTERS TO THE EDITOR – EILEEN WILLOW EXPRESSES HER VIEW ON THE ORACLE’S COVER OF THE AUSTRALIAN BUSH FIRES

Every so often, the staff here at The Oracle receive letters from our readers. Here is one such letter from Mrs Eileen Willow of New South Wales, Australia:

Dear sir,

I found your cover of the events in Australia (Oracle post: http://theoraclepaper.tumblr.com/post/64668902766) most disheartening. I am a member of the NSW Fire and Fighters Peacekeeping Board and I have to say, things are progressing much better here than your “article” would have people believe. For example, you allege that the fire is directly antagonizing the firefighters. This is false! Indeed, the fire only the other day capitulated several hundred feet of ground in a peacekeeping attempt. It is actually the firefighters who are the more belligerent. Last week they attacked on what is nationally known as a Fire Holiday, killing thousands of innocent young sparks as they played Fire Holiday games like ‘Catch the Eucalyptus’ and ‘Singe the Koala’.

So, sir, I and all of us here at the NSWFFPB ask you to keep your nose out of our business!

Regards,

Eileen Willow
